ABOUT US

Third Set Partners is an African-American family-owned company that builds and operates auto dealerships in the United States. We believe our customers should enjoy buying and maintaining their cars as much as they enjoy driving them, and we’re dedicated to making that belief come alive in our dealerships.

  • Teamwork
  • Excellence
  • N(k)now-How

The dealerships we operate serve their communities with the highest standards of fairness and integrity, maintain and enhance the images of the brands we sell and service, and provide our employees excellent places to build their careers.

Hal Logan

President and Chief Executive Officer of Third Set Partners

Hal Logan is the President and CEO of Third Set Partners, and the Dealer Principal at BMW of Fairfield.

Hal never expected to be in the automobile business. But once he got a taste of the challenges and opportunities it provides, he decided to make it the focus of his career. And over the past 20 years he has driven major innovations that have had a significant impact on the industry.

Hal spent the first phase of his career in print and electronic media, ultimately becoming the CEO of Vicinity, Inc., a Silicon Valley company that provided Yellow Pages, maps and driving directions. After the successful IPO of Vicinity, he opened a consulting practice, and entered into an engagement with an Atlanta-based “skunkworks” that grew up to become AutoTrader.com. His work with AutoTrader led to a 10-year career with AutoTrader’s parent company during which he served as the company’s senior executive in Marketing and Strategic Planning, and as CEO of the company’s technology subsidiary, Manheim Interactive.

In the Marketing role, Hal led the company’s repositioning from brick-and-mortar auction company to provider of full range of remarketing services, both traditional and online. In the Strategic Planning role, he spearheaded a process that turned the company’s vast warehouse of data into a strategic competitive asset. And at Manheim Interactive, Hal led the teams that pioneered online selling and turned the Manheim Market Report into the industry’s leading provider of wholesale market vehicle valuations.

In his most recent role, Hal served a Chief Executive Officer of BuyBook Technologies, Inc., a vehicle valuation software company that was acquired by AutoTrader.com in 2014. Under Hal’s leadership, BuyBook Technologies grew from an idea into a $50 million company that revolutionized the vehicle trade-in process.

Hal is a member of the board of directors and chairman of the compensation committee of RepairPal, Inc., the leading internet-based source of information about auto repair and service. Chairman of the board of directors of auctionOS, an Atlanta-based startup developing an operating system for independent auto auctions, and Chairman of the board of Learning Ally, a national non-profit organization dedicated to helping students with reading disabilities reach their full potential.

Hal and his wife, Etienne, have three grown children, two of whom live in Northern California. He looks forward to returning to the Bay Area, where he and his family lived for more than a decade, to oversee the operations of BMW of Fairfield, and pursue other new point and buy/sell opportunities to come.  area

Justin LeGrand-Logan

Chief Operating Officer of Third Set Partners

Justin began his career in the automobile industry as a sales floor consultant at a Ford dealership in Northern California. During his time there, one of his coworkers used to say, “You don’t get into the car business, the car business gets into you.” The profound truth of that observation is reflected clearly in Justin’s career. The car business has gotten deeply into him, taking him from floor salesman at Ford to General Sales Manager at a Mercedes-Benz store. Justin’s next step will be to the General Manager position at BMW Fairfield when that new point opens the doors to a temporary facility in 2021, and then the permanent home in 2022.

Justin brings both real-world experience and the industry’s finest academic training to Third Set Partners. He has held every front-end position from floor salesperson to internet salesperson and manager to finance manager and director. He has led multiple departments and teams simultaneously, while maintaining and increasing profitability, controlling expenses, and driving high customer satisfaction and employee engagement. Justin’s dealership teams have been recognized by Mercedes-Benz as “Best of the Best,” and by Automotive News as one of “The Best Dealerships to Work For.” He also graduated from NADA’s Dealer Academy and continues his academic learning via NAMAD NextGen and NCM 20 Groups.

Justin attributes a large part of his success in the automobile industry to his background as a high-level athlete. The competitive fire, teamwork and leadership skills he honed as a four-year starter and captain of the basketball team at the University of Idaho have translated seamlessly to the dealership environment, where competition is fierce, teamwork is essential, and leadership is often the difference between success and failure.

Justin and Third Set Partners are committed to delivering guest-first practices executed with integrity, professionalism and empathy. The collective goal is to stand out among its competitors with an innovative philosophy and a completely transparent ownership process. At every level of the dealership experience, clients will receive an unmatched level of customer service. Justin is committed to making BMW Fairfield and the opportunities to follow more than just a car dealership to the friends and families of Napa Valley and Solano County, and to providing the best experience they’ve ever had buying and owning a car.

Justin is a Northern California native, raised in Oakland. He and his wife of 7 years, Jo-Anna, recently welcomed the birth of their first child, Victory. Justin and Jo-Anna relocated from Oakland to Fairfield in July of 2020 in order to be closer to BMW Fairfield, and they look forward to the opportunity to bring more brands to Napa and Solano counties.
